| A family business founded
in 1966, by M. Alcide Bourque, A. Bourque
Acier & Métaux Inc. processed, when it
started, between 20 and 300 tons of metal annually.
Today, the company recycles yearly about ten thousands
tons of metals. And it goes on! |
|
Still under the presidency of the foundator, but
managed by his son, Ghyslain, who has been in
this field for 15 years, our business includes three
factories. The first one is situated in Sherbrooke;
where is also the registered office. The second one,
bought in 1989, is located in Bromont ; and the third
one , that was added in 1999, is in Lac-Mégantic. The
two last ones were bought with the aim of
giving a better service to our clients.

In July of 1998, after a major fire in
our Sherbrooke factory, the company decided not only
to rebuild the factory but also to set up modern and
functional offices. It was a considerable improvement
since the company took this opportunity to computerize
itself. At the same time, more room was given to do
operations such as sorting out or cutting the
scrap; this made the work more efficient and
allowed to cut down the costs.
« Our clients are the ones
benefiting from this because they receive
more for their steel and metal scrap »,
says Mr. Ghyslain Bourque, general manager
and person in charge of the three factories.

Constantly looking for new markets, our
managers still have many projects in mind
and news challenges to accept . And they can
count on their employees to help them
achieve their goals.
